Indianapolis, IN — ProAct Indy today announced that Dr. David Austin, DDS, Dental Director at MHS (Managed Health Services), has been elected to its board of directors joining 10 other esteemed leaders from the city of Indianapolis. Dr. Austin brings with him a broad range of leadership experience in the public and private sectors, as well as a long and storied track record as a champion for equity, opportunity, and representation in the medical field.
Join us in congratulating our Founder, Derrin Slack, for receiving the Indiana Youth Institute 2020 D. Susan Wisely Youth Worker of the Year award. This event celebrated ten years of impact for ProAct Indy as we reflected on how we have stood in the gap since our inception in 2010 and how 2020 helped us realize our truest mission. We also had the opportunity to celebrate and recognize a Youth of the Decade, Corporate Partner of the Year, and a Community Partner of the Year! ProAct is celebrating its 10-Year Anniversary in our special Close the Gap Celebration!
As of March 12, 2020, ProAct staff has been working from home and will be until at least April 7, 2020 as directed by the Indiana state government leaders and CDC guidelines. In the interim, we will leverage our resources, online platforms, and volunteer network to help distribute meals to children and families in need throughout the city of Indianapolis as well as offer our volunteer management and project facilitation support to nonprofits who need warm bodies to meet the needs of their community.
